LANGUAGE
Vietnamese is influenced by Chinese and Indonesian cultures. Vietnamese use to take the form Chinese character when written out. Until war with France cause a change in the written language and it became similar to the French language. French is also the second language of Vietnam although not a lot of people speak it. When speaking to northern and southern Vietnamese people you will notice a little difference in pronunciation, I'm southern and we tend to speak in a slower an more understandable accent to foreigners although pronunciation for some words we say are considered incorrect, but for the north the have a heavier accent but they have a greater pronunciation than southern Vietnamese people.
