MUSIC
Traditional Vietnamese music is influenced by Chinese culture. Most music in Vietnamese culture involve a lot about romance, the aspects of heartache and true love are the main focal point of the lyrics. Music I hear at home have all these aspects and my family are a big fan of it, I'm not so much into that kind of music.

Some of the instruments are unique to Vietnamese music. Most of these unique instruments are string instrument such as the one in the picture above played by the girl. That instrument is a called a Đàn nguyệt or moon lute. It has two strings and it is plucked when played. The moon lute also comes a short stubby version with 4 strings although this is thought to be from china.

One more instrument that is quite popular is called the đàn tranh or 16-chord zither. This instrument is like the last but it is played only by plucking and not bowing. In almost any Vietnamese song you would be able to hear this instrument. It's also rather difficult to learn compared to any other Vietnamese instruments.

There are plenty more instruments and song style to talk about. Though that maybe too long. Most of the traditional instrument are variations on modern day instrument such as the flute compared to the bamboo flute. I chose my personal favorite and most interesting looking instruments to showcase but you can do research for more.
